2006 Custom Built
30' x 12' Island Hopper
The UnReel was custom built in Florida by Island Hopper International Boatworks in 2006. She is USCG inspected and certified for 16 passengers up to 100 miles offshore. The UnReel is 30' long and with the extremely stable 12' beam there is plenty of room for anything whether it is inshore or offshore fishing. There is an enclosed head downstairs for use at sea. We have equipped the UnReel with state of the art electronics including radar, sounder, GPS, autopilot, EPIRB, vhf radios and a single sideband radiotelephone. We also have top of the line life rafts, life jackets, and a FIREBOY fire extinguishing system in case of an emergency.
The UnReel is powered by a Cummins Diesel QSB 5.9 litre 355 hp engine. This turbo charged engine has a top end speed around 28 knots and is capable of cruising at 22 knots. The QSB engine is built to meet all the new EPA standards, which means it is quieter and cleaner than those smokey and noisey diesel engines most of us are familiar with. This also means you will have a much more comfortable and enjoyable ride to the fishing grounds.
The Captain
John Peterson is a USCG captain and is certified for passenger vessels up to 50 tons and out 100 miles. Capt. John has been fishing and working in Cape May since he was a child. Most of his experience has come from working on a local party boat for over 10 years. As you can imagine he has already gained a life time of local knowledge and fishing techniques of the area waters.
